In fact, the British have been a part of the fabric of Bahraini culture since the 1800s, and managed the courts, administrative infrastructure, and government until the 1970s! To this day, American and British influence is prevalent across the island.

Bahrain is also home to many different nationalities and ethnicities, and also maintains a distinct, proud and rich traditional Arab culture.

We offer cost effective, efficient and reliable services to meet all of our clients corporate needs. Below, we present an outline of the various procedures associated with company setup in Bahrain. We can also help clients register their business and office address through business centers in the Kingdom.

Procedures to setup a company

The first step is to appoint a local representative, or law firm via a POA or authorization letter. If you order our service through this website, we can provide you with access to a consultant who will form the entity for you on the island and be available in person as well.

If you are physically located on the Island, and possess a CPR, you will be able to start the application yourself with an “e-key” via the government’s online portal, “Sijilat.” Otherwise, you will need to provide us with a notarized power of attorney (we provide the template for this). This will be notarized, and then attested by the department of state/home affairs in your home country. It will then have to be sent to the nearest Bahraini embassy for attestation, before being sent back to us via courier.

After this, you will require a lease copy evidencing your physical office location, along with the municipality and Electricity/Water/Utility registration bill, which we can assist you in obtaining. We then have to create and upload the corporate documents for your entity, including the corporate memorandum.

Once complete, you have to visit Bahrain to open your bank account and make the capital deposit, and the final step is to upload the bank statement to the sijilat system.

Key Facts to be Aware of

  • You will require a physical office space. Various business incubators provide smart desks and virtual offices, however, the minimum cost of a smart desk or office space is around BHD 70-120 per month. We can also help you source temporary office space to establish your commercial registration and business setup.

  • There is no particular capital requirements for company formation, however, the minimum amount we recommend depositing is approximately BHD 500.

  • The process can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months depending on the type of company, documentation provided, and service level selected.
